Will McCanless Pottery
Peder Wilhelm McCanless is the 2nd son of the McCanless family of potters from Seagrove, NC. Will specializes in the hand painted stoneware pieces inspired by Italian, Chinese and Middle Eastern motifs, as well as the classic “Seagrove Red” glazing technique that showcases the area’s early styles and influences.
Will was chosen to become an artist-in-residence in the tourist mecca of Bendigo in Victoria, Australia. Will will teach not only the turning and burning of the clay, but also the use of his sought-after glazes and his unique flourish in painting the finished ware.
